Kemea Yamaha-rider Jago Geerts will make his debut for Belgium in the Motocross of Nations in Red Bud (USA), on october 6 and 7. Team manager Johan Boonen picked Geerts (MX2) next to experienced riders Clément Desalle (MXGP) and Jeremy Van Horebeek.

It’s the icing on the cake for the 18-year-old Belgian rider, who’s having a fantastic first season at the highest level. The Kemea Yamaha-rider is currently seventh in the world championship MX2, grabbed his first podium (second place) at the Grand Prix in Latvia and captured the Dutch title. “It’s going fast, very fast this season”, says Geerts. “First season and immediately in the Nations team, that’s crazy. It’s a race I always dreamed of. It’s an honour to defend the colours of my country. I’m really looking forward to Red Bud.”
There’s a big chance that Geerts will be joined by his Kemea Yamaha teammates Ben Watson (Great-Britain) and Anthony Rodriguez (Venezuela). Although both countries haven’t announced their official Nations teams yet.

The Kemea Yamaha Team is at the Grand Prix of Lommel (Belgium) this weekend. Geerts finished seventh in the qualifying race, Rodriguez was tenth, Watson eleventh. On Sunday they will fight for world championship points in the two motos.
